On
Celtica Radios' Underground Edition we're giving away the complete
Boxed Set of;
3rd
Rock from the Sun.
An
alien expedition is boldly going where no aliens have gone before:
Earth! Taking on human identities as the Solomon family, the visitors
settle in Rutherford, Ohio, in order to study humankind.
But
they’re in for a culture shock of astronomical proportions
as they encounter our planet’s bizarre ways. Stranger still
are their new physical forms, which constantly amaze them with
surprises like puberty and passion – especially when High
Commander Dick Solomon (John Lithgow) becomes hopelessly infatuated
with his human co-worker (Jane Curtin). With sophisticated satire
and wild farce, 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN offers a hilarious look
at our world from an outrageously new point of view.
Please
answer the question to who said this? “Many a small thing
has been made large by the right kind of advertising.” Now
who do you think said that?
Once
you’ve got the answer, please e-mail it together with your
Name and Address to bill@celticaradio.com, all the correct answers
will go into a hat, and we’ll pick the winner and give you
the answer, in Februarys show.

the November issue of the TATHAN Magazine, the prize was a 19
disc set of the complete series of;
Tales
of the Unexpected.
First broadcast in 1979 the series ran for an impressive nine

In
the December issue of the TATHAN Magazine, the prize is the complete
first series of;
Get
Some In!
This
comedy was written by the award winning team of John Esmonde and
Bob Larbey. It’s 1955, and across Britain 18 year olds are
getting their call-up papers for National Service. Embarking on
two years in the RAF are grammar school boy Ken, cynical Glaswegian
Bruce Leckie, Teddy boy Jakey Smith and Matthew, a privately educated
vicar’s son. Awaiting them upon their arrival at RAF Skelton
is the uncompromising Corporal Marsh, their DI (Drill Instructor
or for his recruits, Devil’s Instrument).
As
the square bashing begins, life will never be quite the same for
any of them… This complete first series also includes a
Christmas special and stars a young Robert Lindsay and Tony Selby.
Festive viewing at its very best.

Also
in the December issue of the TATHAN Magazine, the prize is a
compilation series of;
The
Rag Trade.
Nothing
ever runs smoothly at the Fenner Fashion Workshops. It’s
a hotbed of industrial strife and class warfare, with firebrand
shop steward Paddy (Miriam Karlin) battling it out with penny-pinching
proprietor Harold Fenner (Peter Jones) at every opportunity!
It only takes the slightest provocation for Paddy to blow her
whistle and yell “everybody out!” Poor foreman Reg
(Reg Varney) is stuck in the middle of the fight and getting
it in the neck from both sides!
Sheila
Handcock as Carole and Esma Cannon as Little Lil are amongst
the long-suffering workforce, as is a young Barbara Windsor.
Another BBC Comedy Classic to get your granny rolling in the
aisle.
