for the New Year

Wherever you are, I wish you and your loved ones a very happy and successful
New Year.
Its hard to know what is best really in 2007. I think the important
thing is not to repeat 2006!
What I mean by that, is to find new challenges and not procrastinate.
As we turn the corner into 2007, I think there is inevitably some false
hope of "renewal" therefore some disappointment as we see
that basically, life doesn´t change drastically from one day to
the next. We all need to really galvanise ourselves on a daily basis
to make any headway or to change the course of our lives from one year
to the next.
And so often, we depend on others to make this happen also, because
we need the assistance and positivity of other people to move forwards.
Very rarely, do we achieve anything 100% individually - we need the
help of others to advance.
Just thinking aloud! And I do mean it when I say Happy New Year - as
long as we all remember that happiness comes from within and that change
begins deep within the self.
Affectionately,
Andy.

Thanks to you all Celtica Radio has continued to go from strength to
strength. With our continuing growth comes a continuing success. However
small that may be, Celtica Radio has forged a path for everyone to follow
and that they have done.
Our success has been copied by almost every other station in one form
or another, and yet we are still not available on a terrestrial frequency.
BUT one day I and the rest of the team believe that will change, we
just need a bit of that Christmas luck to come our way.
I would like to personally thank all our listeners, and especially the
team for your continued contributions, towards the operation, broadcasting,
control, and the families that have to put up with US!!!!!!!!
May we and you have a
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY, PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR

Hi Celtica Radio Team,
just a quick end of year note to say thanks a bundle for the airplay
and support I have picked up this year - it really has made a difference.
As an Aussie artist it has enabled me to get my music out into the world,
so it's truly appreciated.
I hope you have a great Xmas, New Year and a rocking 2007.

Subject: John Grierson Joins Celtica Radio
Author: Bill Everatt
Date Posted: 16:12:17 12/09/05
Veteran broadcaster John Grierson is to join Celtica Radio the group has
confirmed. As the first General Manager of Manx Radio, John is also the
voice that launched Manx Radio, the UK’s first officially licensed
commercial station in 1964. John is widely regarded as the father of UK
Commercial Radio and his involvement in commercial radio worldwide spans
several decades.
John Grierson will present a monthly comment programme covering current
affairs over a wide spectrum of issues. The programmes will be recorded
at a private studio facility in Cornwall and uploaded to the Celtica programme
server using custom-provided Celtica software.
Celtica’s Managing Director Bill Everatt said, “Over the past
three months John has been looking carefully at what Celtica Radio has
to offer, and what we stand for. I am delighted that we have managed to
attract such a respected and experienced broadcasting talent.
“John will also be advising us on a number of matters, and this
practical assistance will enable us to expand."
John Grierson : " There's no doubt in my mind that Celtica is pointing
the way to the future", he says, " and I have nothing but respect
for Bill Everatt and the Celtica Radio team for the pioneering work they
are doing. It's a pleasure to be part of that team and to play any part
I can to help Celtica go from strength to strength."
In addition to John Grierson joining Celtica Radio, the writer and former
news broadcaster Andrew John, who has worked in commercial radio in the
English Midlands and Wales, has also begun contributing regular material
to Celtica. Andrew will be providing a sideways, slightly impish, look
at current events in no particular order, as part of the station’s
Underground Edition programme, and this marks his return to regular broadcasting
after thirteen years.
Celtica Radio now creates programmes from a network of studios in Newtown,
Pembrokeshire, Swansea, Bridgend, St Athan, Newport, Yorkshire and Cornwall.

Celtica Radio is joining the Podshow revolution with four special new
music shows a month for www.podshows.com The programmes will feature all
new music, and will be exclusive to Podshows.
In a statement,Celtica Radio said, “it has taken us a lot of hard
work to get to this stage, and what is really exciting is that listeners
to the Celtica Radio network will now be able to hear us on the move,
anywhere.” “We’re also really pleased that Podshows.com
felt confident in the quality of our stations output and talent base to
take our programming in the first place.” “We’re now
part of a network that contains the cream of UK broadcasting. It’s
an honour for our independently owned station to be making programmes
alongside the likes of Tony Blackburn, Paul Gambaccini, Terry Christian,
Wes Butters and Daryl Denham to mention just a few. These are of some
of the biggest and most respected names in the business.”
The programmes will be presented by Celticas’ own team, from their
own network of studios and will be in addition to the material currently
webcast from the Celtica Radio website.
Daryl Denham, one of the co-founders of Podshows.com said, “We’re
delighted to be making Celtica Radio’s material available from www.podshows.com
Celtica Radio will play an invaluable part in extending the range of unique
programming we are able to offer.”
The presenters initially lined up for this new premium service are Karl
Burtonshaw from Swansea, Pete Davies from Pembrokeshire, Steve Edge from
Newtown, Bill Everatt from Bridgend, Ed Risby from St. Athan, and Fred
Stacey from Newport.

Subject: Bob McCord

Date Posted: 23:01:38 01/20/04
It is with great sadness that we have received news of the death of the
broadcaster Bob McCord on Sunday the 18th of January 2004.
The staff and directors of Celtica Radio would like to express their sincere
condolences and deepest sympathy to his family.
Throughout his radio career, Bob worked on many radio stations and for
many years, Swansea Sound in South Wales. Bob also broadcast to an international
audience too, Blue Danube Radio in Austria being one of the non UK stations
Bobs voice was heard on to mention but a few. In 1968, when he was still
a teenager, Bob was also one of the founders of one of the first Hospital
Radio stations in Wales, Radio LF, in Morriston Hospital.
Quite a few of our presenters at Celtica Radio, past and present, knew
Bob personally, and he was also responsible for launching or inspiring
many aspiring DJ's to work in broadcasting including myself, Jane Cullen,
and Bill Everatt. His creative and gentle style of presentation made him
instantly recognisable on air, and his music programming was both innovative
and enjoyable, combining album tracks with West Coast Hits.
Bob was well respected throughout the industry on a professional level,
and his infectious enthusiasm for life especially surfing and the beach,
made him a genuinely nice person to know.
During the summer, the soundtrack he created through the medium of radio
was the perfect companion, and he brought sunshine to all of us during
the long winter months.

Just to clarify the point, "any messages with malicious content or intent
will be deleted." Means we will not allow libel / or profanities / or
a stalking related activity to take place on this website. We are quite
happy to allow everyone to have their say, within these guidelines…
This also means activity aimed at causing trouble for Celtica Radio, genuine
criticism we accept, and always try to act on. Ingenuous criticism is
not welcome, after all, we have rights too.
Freedom of speech is a precious gift not to be squandered like cheap perfume.
It’s pretty straightforward, and not rocket science.
One final thing, it does help us to take you seriously if the name and
e-mail address is a little less nebulous. Hope this helps!

I like the way 'Celtica Radio' does not edit comments, but "any messages
with malicious or sexual content will not be included." Why? If you
truly respect free speech the you will let everyone have their say without
edit or your no better than the tabloids.
